2 Hospitalized after Kern County Crash on Kimberlina Road near Shafter Avenue
Kern County, California (March 13, 2022) – Two drivers were hospitalized with severe injuries after a head-on collision that happened early Sunday morning near Wasco, in Kern County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at about 12:18 a.m. on Kimberlina Road, just east of Shafter Avenue.
A blue Honda sedan and a white Dodge sedan collided head-on for unknown reasons. Both vehicles were blocking the roadway after the crash, and debris was scattered in the roadway.
Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene and blocked the roadway in both directions.
Both drivers sustained major injuries to their lower extremities. The patients were taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
