Kiara Zarate ID'd as Woman Killed in Palm Springs Crash on North Gene Autry Trail near Salvia Road
Palm Springs, California (October 17, 2021) – The woman who died Saturday night in a traffic collision involving two vehicles in Palm Springs has been identified as Kiara Zarate, 29, of Desert Hot Springs, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.
The deadly wreck happened at around 11:56 p.m. Saturday, October 16, on North Gene Autry Trail, just south of Salvia Road.
Police said two vehicles collided in the area. Details on what led up to the crash were not immediately available.

One of the drivers, now identified as Zarate, died in the crash.
It was not immediately clear if anyone else was injured in the crash.
The roadway was closed for hours as authorities examined and cleared the scene.
The Palm Springs Police Department is investigating the accident.
