Kurt Jensen Injured in Fatal Mendocino County Accident on State Route 20 near Potter Valley Road
Mendocino County, California (March 30, 2022) – Kurt Jensen, 49, of Clearlake was injured in a traffic collision that left one person dead in Mendocino County on Monday evening.
According to CHP, the deadly multi-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 20, east of Potter Valley Road near Buffalo Ranch at about 5:28 p.m. March 29.
Rafael Esquivel, 60, of Ukiah was driving a blue 2003 Mini Cooper eastbound on Highway 20 when he lost control on the wet roadway and drifted into the westbound side.
The Cooper crashed into a 2018 Toyota Tacoma driven by Michael Schmuckley, 66, of Oregon.
According to the report, the Cooper spun out of control and crashed into a 2019 Ford Explorer that was being driven by Jensen.

A passenger in the Mini Cooper, identified as Cleotide Rodriguez Delgado, 49, of Ukiah, was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
Jensen was hospitalized for moderate injuries.
Esquivel was also taken to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played any role in the collision.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
