According to CHP, a 34-year-old man was riding an electric scooter southbound on Park Drive when he collided with a Ford pickup truck that was traveling west on Gas Point Road

Cottonwood, CA – The person who was hit and killed while riding an electric scooter in Cottonwood on Saturday has been identified as 34-year-old Kyle Welch of Cottonwood.
According to the CHP, Welch was heading southbound on Park Drive when his electric scooter collided with a Ford F-250 truck traveling westbound on Gas Point Road at about 10 p.m. that Saturday, May 31.
Investigators said after the collision, the truck driver drove to the north shoulder of Gas Point Road and then exited the vehicle. That's when he noticed that Welch was underneath the truck.
Welch was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.

According to CHP, a 34-year-old man was riding an electric scooter southbound on Park Drive when he collided with a Ford pickup truck that was traveling west on Gas Point Road.
The scooter rider was located underneath the truck after the collision.
Emergency crews performed life-saving measures on the rider but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the collision.
