, California (October 20, 2021) – A passenger on a motorcycle was injured in a collision with a vehicle Sunday evening in Lancaster, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, October 17, on the Freeway near the Jakes Way overpass.

CHP said Cathell Oliver, 32, of Lancaster, was riding a Harley Davidson northbound on 14 Freeway when, for unknown reasons, he collided with a Hyundai Accent sedan.

Motorcycle Passenger Injured in 14 Freeway Collision

The extent of the injuries sustained by Oliver's passenger was not immediately available.

Authorities determined that Oliver was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage at the time of the accident. He was arrested and booked at the Central Jail for felony DUI. His bail was set at $100,000.

The crash remains under investigation.
