At Least 1 Seriously Injured in Lathrop Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Lathrop Road On-Ramp
Lathrop, California (October 4, 2021) – A multi-vehicle collision that occurred Monday morning on Interstate 5 in Lathrop left at least one person with severe injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, three vehicles were involved in the pileup at about 8:29 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway, just north of Lathrop Road on-ramp.
The incident involved a tow truck, a black SUV, and a third vehicle. The vehicles were blocking the roadway after the collision.
A female party got trapped inside the SUV and needed extrication.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and helped the motorists.
At least one person suffered major injuries in the accident. An ambulance was sent to the scene to take the patient to the hospital.
CHP is investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
