At Least Dead in Bakersfield Collision on Highway 178 near Lower Richbar Picnic Area
Bakersfield, California (March 20, 2022) – At least one person died following a traffic collision that took place in Bakersfield on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened shortly before 8 p.m. March 19, on Highway 178 near the Lower Richbar Picnic Area.

CHP said two vehicles were involved in the collision on the eastbound side of the highway.
The cause of the collision was not immediately established.
At least one person died following the crash.
The CHP is working to find out what led up to the crash.
