Male Rider Killed in Long Beach Motorcycle Crash on 405 Freeway near Cherry Avenue

Long Beach, California (October 28, 2021) – A motorcyclist died in a traffic collision that occurred early Thursday morning in Long Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 405 Freeway crash happened at around 4:38 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Cherry Avenue.
A party called authorities reporting that a male rider was run over by a vehicle.
Police officers, firefighters and Caltrans responded to the scene.
The motorcyclist died in the crash, and the Los Angeles County coroner was requested to respond.
Southbound 405 Freeway in the crash area remained closed for an unknown period following the collision.
CHP is investigating the incident.
