At Least 1 Injured in Long Beach Car Crash on Interstate 405 near Palo Verde Avenue Off-Ramp
Long Beach, California (October 19, 2021) – At least one person was injured in a multi-car pileup that occurred Monday night in Long Beach, as per the California Highway Patrol.
Three vehicles collided at around 11:22 p.m. on northbound Interstate 405 near the Palo Verde Avenue off-ramp.
A party called authorities reporting that a vehicle, possibly a minivan, with its hazard lights on, was traveling in the No. 1 lane at about 10 mph. The vehicle then stopped, and the hazard lights went off. The vehicle got blacked out and other motorists were swerving to avoid hitting it.
Shortly after that, a collision involving three vehicles occurred in that area. It was unknown if the vehicle that was stopped was involved in the accident.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to find at least one person suffering from possible major injuries.
At the time of the report, no information was available on the cause of the collision.
