Louis Munoz ID'd as Man Killed in Porterville Motorcycle Accident on Road 236 near Avenue 112

Porterville, CA (September 26, 2021) – Louis Munoz, 57, of Porterville has been identified as the motorcycle rider who died after being involved in a suspected DUI hit-and-run accident in Porterville early Wednesday morning, according to a local news source.
The wreck was reported at about 2:30 a.m., September 22, on Road 236, south of Avenue 112.
CHP said Dominic Casarez, 23, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound on Road 236 when he drifted into the left lane and collided with an oncoming 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven south on the highway by Munoz.

As per the CHP report, Munoz was rushed to the Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he later died while undergoing treatment.
Casarez, who was found to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash, fled the scene on foot after the collision.
Authorities later located Casarez and arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run. He is expected to face murder charges following the incident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
