14-Year-Old Lucy Biakanja Killed in Hollister Collision on Highway 156

Hollister, California (August 16, 2022) – 14-year-old Lucy Biakanja of Carmel Valley, was among four family members killed in a collision with a big rig on Sunday night in Hollister, according to a local news source.
The family was in a Tesla traveling east on Highway 156 and swerved into the path of oncoming traffic near Fairview Road at about 8:05 p.m. August 14.
The Tesla collided head-on with an onoming tractor-trailer.
Lucy was a passenger in the Tesla, driven by her mother Lisa Biakanja, 55, of Carmel Valley.
Lucy's twin sister, Leigh Biakanja, 14, and brother, Ben Biakanja, 12, were also passengers in the Tesla.
The four occupants of the Tesla died in the collision.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.

Hollister, California (August 15, 2022) – At least one person died in a Sunday night Highway 156 crash involving a big rig and a sedan in Hollister, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The collision took place at about 8:05 p.m. just east of San Felipe Road.
CHP said for reasons yet to be determined, a white sedan collided with a white semi-truck with a white trailer, blocking traffic lanes.
Responding firefighters and paramedics said one person died in the crash.
Traffic flow was affected in the area due to road closures as authorities investigated.
