Tucson, Arizona – The man who was hit and killed while changing a tire Thursday morning in Tucson has been identified as Luis Del Toro, 60, of Tucson, according to the Arizona DPS.
The deadly accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on May 22, on Interstate 19.
DPS said Del Toro was helping a family friend change a tire when another vehicle hit him.
The accident caused a chain-reaction collision, involving five vehicles. One of those vehicles caught fire.
Del Toro was killed in the accident. He owned LET Tire Shop on East Benson Highway.
The driver who hit Del Toro, a 70-year-old woman, and another person were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
