Major Injuries Reported in Head-On Collision in St. Helena

St. Helena, CA – At least one person sustained major injuries in a head-on collision that happened Saturday afternoon in St. Helena, the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities received reports of a head-on crash around 4:11 p.m. on Silverado Trail just south of Zinfandel Lane.

First responders found two cars with major crash damage.

The accident resulted in serious injuries. An injured female occupant of one of the cars had her knee stuck in the dashboard.

Three dogs were also involved in the collision. One of them was injured and possibly died from the wounds.

Both cars were towed away from the scene.

The roadway was shut down as police officers investigated.
