Placer County, California (July 2, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a major injury traffic collision that happened Friday afternoon in Placer County.

The incident occurred at around 2:53 p.m. on westbound , not far from the California-Nevada border near Reno City.

Two vehicles of unknown make and model were involved in the accident.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene.

At least one person suffered severe injuries. The patient was offered medical aid by the emergency personnel and transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

A bulldog was also involved in the accident, but it was not clear if it was injured. Placer County Animal Control responded to handle the animal.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
