San Jose, CA – A man was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle collision in San Jose, according to the CHP.
The fatal collision took place around 11:30 p.m. on July 13 on northbound Highway 87 south of Taylor Street.
CHP said a 2020 Mercedes rear-ended a 2013 Honda Civic.
The Honda lost control after the impact and hit the center concrete wall, while the Mercedes left the right-hand side of the road, hit a concrete pillar, and caught fire.
A passenger in the Mercedes was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Mercedes driver, a 21-year-old Cupertino man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The authorities are investigating the accident
