Ramona, CA – A 35-year-old man was killed and five other people were injured following a head-on crash on Highway 67 in Ramona Wednesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 67 and Brantner Lan near Dos Picos County Park at about 5:55 p.m. on July 9.
Investigators said a 2019 Lexus ES 300h, operated by a 35-year-old Ramona man, was heading southbound on SR-67 when, for some reason, it veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a 2000 Ford Excursion traveling north.
The Ramona man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending next of kin notification.
The driver of the Ford, a 65-year-old woman, and four other people who were in the Ford were hospitalized with minor to moderately severe injuries.
No additional information was provided.

Ramona, CA – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly head-on traffic collision that happened Wednesday evening on Highway 67 in Ramona.
The collision happened at about 5:55 p.m. in the area of Highway 67 and Brantner Lane.
According to CHP, a Silver Nissan and a Ford SUV were involved in a head-on collision.
One person was trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the trapped motorist.
According to the CHP, the person had complaints of pain to the stomach, chest, back, and the neck.
CHP officials said the person succumbed to their injuries.
