The victim was walking westbound on the highway between lanes when a silver Kia Optima driven by Nicholas Harris struck the pedestrian from behind.
Apple Valley, CA. – A male pedestrian between 18-20 years of age, was killed in a pedestrian crash on Highway 18 in Apple Valley early Monday morning.
According to the CHP, the incident happened at around 2:34 a.m. on State Route 18 and Flathead Road.
The victim was walking westbound on the highway between lanes when a silver Kia Optima driven by Nicholas Harris struck the pedestrian from behind.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver involved was not injured. They remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
The crash remains under investigation.
