Driver Dies, 3 Others Hospitalized After Collision on Highway 121 in Napa

, CA. – A man died, and a mother and her two children were seriously injured in a head-on collision that happened Friday afternoon in Napa.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck was reported around 4:38 p.m. on Highway 121 north of Highway 37.

The crash involved a 2024 Toyota Venza occupied by a man and a 2011 Lexus RX450 occupied by a woman and her son and daughter.

Witnesses told authorities that the Toyota was traveling southbound on the highway when, for an unknown reason, it crossed over the double-yellow lines and collided head-on with the Lexus.

The Toyota caught fire after the accident.

The man driving the Toyota was pronounced dead at a Napa hospital at 5:36 p.m.

The mother and her children sustained serious injuries. The woman was transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital for treatment.

Her children, an 11-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son, were airlifted to Children's Hospital for treatment.

CHP is investigating to determine the factors that contributed to the crash.
