Carlsbad, Calif. – A man was hit and killed by a train near the Carlsbad Village Coaster station on Tuesday evening, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The incident took place near the Coast Highway Bridge at about 5:45 p.m. March 5.
According to the report, a northbound North County Transit District Coaster train collided with a pedestrian on the tracks.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, died at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the deadly accident.
