Del Mar, Calif. – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train in Del Mar on Sunday night, according to the authorities.
The accident took place at about 9:53 p.m. March 17, just north of the Torrey Pines State Beach.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the pedestrian was hit by a North County Transit District Coaster train.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, died at the scene.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.
