San Diego police said a 41-year-old man was standing on the north shoulder of Washington Street when he walked into the roadway and was hit by a 2014 Toyota Prius traveling west

University Heights, CA – A pedestrian was hit and injured by a vehicle in University Heights on Wednesday afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The accident took place in the 1400 block of Washington Street at about 2:45 p.m. April 10.
San Diego police said a 41-year-old man was standing on the north shoulder of Washington Street when he walked into the roadway and was hit by a 2014 Toyota Prius traveling west.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries including spinal cord fractures, left lower leg fractures, and a laceration to his forehead.
Police said alcohol was not a factor in the collision, which remained under investigation.
