
Modesto, CA – A died Tuesday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Highway 99 near Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at about 3:32 p.m. on Northbound Highway 99 near Crows Landing Road off-ramp.
According to the CHP, a man was pushing a bicycle across the highway and walked directly into the path of a Volvo that was heading north on Highway 99 and was struck.
The man was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital where he later died. The Volvo driver was not injured in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
