Man Injured in Seattle Pedestrian Accident on Melrose Avenue East

Seattle, WA. – A man was critically injured after being hit by a car as he rode an electric unicycle in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle.

According to Seattle police, the accident happened on Melrose Avenue East at around 1 p.m. on May 25.

Merc Malden was riding an electric unicycle southbound when he was hit by a car.

The man was trapped underneath the car and was dragged about a block, ending up at the intersection of Melrose and Roy Street.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with severe injuries including a broken leg, a fractured tailbone and broken vertebrae.

The vehicle, possibly a black or gray compact SUV, did not stop at the scene and was yet to be located.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
