Man Killed, One Severely Injured in Visalia Collision on State Route 137 at Road 68
Visalia, California (October 15, 2021) – A two-vehicle collision has claimed the life of a man and left one other person with severe injuries in Visalia early Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly crash was reported to the CHP at about 1:50 a.m. on State Route 137 at Road 68.
According to the CHP, the man was driving a Nissan Pathfinder on Road 68, approaching the intersection when he allegedly ran a red light and collided with a Chevy Silverado that was traveling eastbound on State Route 137 at approximately 60 miles per hour.

The driver of the Nissan, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was thrown from the car. He was declared dead at the scene. His name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Chevrolet driver sustained severe injuries and was transported to Kaweah Health. Their current condition remained unknown.
It is undetermined whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
