Man Dies in Morro Bay Car Crash on Highway 1 and San Luisito Creek Road
Morro Bay, California (January 2, 2021) – A man was killed Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash near Morro Bay, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly wreck happened just after 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 31, at the intersection of Highway 1 and San Luisito Creek Road.
According to the CHP, a Chevrolet pickup was traveling southbound on Highway 1 when it tried to make a left turn onto San Luisito Creek Road.
Gerardo Aldama of Santa Maria, who was driving northbound, saw the Chevrolet pickup and applied his brakes but was unable to stop and slammed into the right side of the pickup.
The pickup caught fire upon the impact.
Deadly Car Crash on Highway 1
The driver of the pickup died in the crash. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
Aldama did not suffer any injuries.
