1 Killed in Madera County Accident on Highway 99 near Avenue 18 1/2

Madera County, California (April 10, 2022) – A man was killed in a traffic collision that took place in Madera County early Saturday morning, according to the authorities.
At around 12:30 a.m., authorities received a report of a wrong-way collision on southbound Highway 99, north of Avenue 18 1/2.
A white GMC pickup was heading north on southbound Highway 99 when it collided head-on with an oncoming gray SUV.
The white pickup caught fire following the incident. Firefighters responded to the scene and put out the fire.

A man in the pickup died following the crash.
Four people in the SUV sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
