Bicyclist Struck and Killed by SUV at Blackstone and Herndon Avenues in Fresno

Fresno, California (May 24, 2022) – A 74-year-old-bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle in Fresno on Tuesday morning.
The fatal bicycle accident happened at around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Blackstone and Herndon Avenues, according to the Califonia Highway Patrol.
The man was riding south on Blackstone and was in the crosswalk when he was struck by an SUV traveling east on Herndon.
The unidentified Fresno man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
More details about the crash were not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

- Look twice for bicyclists before making a turn or opening car doors near streets or bike lanes
- When passing a bicyclist, always maintain a minimum of three feet of space, and also be patient when driving behind a bicyclist.
- Do not drive when impaired. Do not use your phone while driving.
