Long Beach, Calif. – 65-year-old Lamar Maxwell was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as a pedestrian struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday morning in Long Beach.

The wreck happened at around 5:25 a.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Ohio Avenue.

The crash remains under investigation.

Long Beach, Calif.A 65-year-old man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach Wednesday morning.

According to the Long Beach Police Department and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, the deadly auto-pedestrian crash happened at around 5:25 a.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Ohio Avenue.

The man was walking in the eastbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway when he was struck.

The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the crash site.

Cher Srey, 55, of Long Beach, fled but later turned herself in at the Signal Hill Police Department, police said.

Srey was taken to Long Beach City Jail, where she was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and released.

More information about the wreck was not provided.

An investigation is underway.
