San Diego, CA. – A male pedestrian was killed in a traffic collision Saturday night on San Diego, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The auto-pedestrian crash was reported at about 8:52 p.m. August 24 in the 4200 block of Mission Bay Drive.
According to police, the victim was running mid-block across Mission Bay Drive, when an approaching pickup truck stopped for the pedestrian. A 23-year-old driver in a Subaru WRX in the next lane hit the pedestrian that was blocked from their view by the large pickup truck.
San Diego Police report the driver of the Subaru was arrested and is facing DUI charges.
The unidentified man was declared deceased at the scene.
