1 Killed, 1 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Dairy Avenue near Salem Avenue in Kings County
Kings County, California (November 15, 2021) – A 74-year-old man was killed in a traffic collision near Corcoran in Kings County on Saturday morning.
The deadly collision happened on Dairy Avenue near Salem Avenue at about 8 a.m., November 13.
The California Highway Patrol established that the 74-year-old was operating a Caterpillar backhoe on the shoulder of a dirt road near Salem Avenue when he was struck by an oncoming Freightliner semi-truck.
The Caterpillar overturned and ejected the man.
Moments later, a passing trash truck hit both the semi-truck and the Caterpillar tractor.

The unidentified driver of the Caterpillar was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The 35-year-old driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries and was taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the trash truck was unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
