Phoenix, AZ – One person was killed in a car crash that sent two others to a hospital on 43rd Avenue in West Phoenix early Sunday morning.
The Phoenix Police Department responded to the collision just before 2 a.m. December 15 near 43rd Avenue and McLellan Boulevard.
Reports revealed that 30-year-old David Leeshawn Johnson was driving south on 43rd Avenue when his car swerved into the northbound lanes and struck a second vehicle head-on.
The male driver of the northbound car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the woman in the passenger seat was hospitalized with critical injuries.
Johnson was released from the hospital and arrested by Phoenix police on multiple charges including manslaughter. Impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash.
