A man was riding a motorized scooter near Camelback Road and 36th Street in the Belmont area when he was struck by a driver who fled the scene.

Phoenix, AZ – A man riding an electric scooter was hit and killed by a car Wednesday night near an intersection in the Belmont area of east Phoenix, police said.
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Camelback Road near 36th Street.
Phoenix police said a man was crossing Camelback on an electric scooter when he was struck by a car.
The driver fled the scene after the crash.
The man was transported to a hospital where he later died.
Investigators closed Camelback for several hours as they worked the scene.
