Police reported that a man riding on a motorized wheelchair was in the roadway when he was hit by a car heading north on 7th Avenue

Phoenix, AZ.- A wheelchair rider was hit and killed by a vehicle in south Phoenix on Thursday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The crash took place on Seventh Avenue, just south of the Salt River bridge, at around 8:43 p.m. July 24.
Police reported that a man riding on a motorized wheelchair was in the roadway when he was hit by a car heading north on 7th Avenue.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver stayed at the scene and was not suspected of impairment.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
