Manuel Correia Arrested after Tulare Pedestrian Crash on Blackstone Street and MLK Boulevard

Tulare, California (March 16, 2022) – Manuel Correia, 83, of Tulare was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a crash that left two teens dead on Sunday night in Tulare, authorities said.
The incident took place on Blackstone Street and MLK Boulevard just before 9 p.m. March 13.
Correia was driving a vehicle that struck two teens in the area.
One of the pedestrians, a 17-year-old Porterville girl, died at a hospital just before midnight.

The second teen was hospitalized with critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Correia was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Jail on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI causing injury.
The incident is under investigation.
