Marcelino Ramirez, John Carlin and Ramandeep Sran Among 5 People Killed in Fresno County Crash on Millerton Road near Marina Drive
Fresno County, California (February 6, 2022) – Marcelino Ramirez, 32 of Clovis, John Carlin, 28 of Fresno, and Ramandeep Sran, 48 of Kerman, have been identified as three of the five people were killed in a Saturday morning traffic accident near Millerton Lake in Fresno County, according to the CHP.
The deadly head-on collision occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Millerton Road near Marina Drive, just west of the casino.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Hyundai Accent, driven by Javier Hernandez, 20 of Lemoore, was headed southbound on Millerton Road when it crossed a double-yellow line into the opposite lane, crashing head-on into a white Honda Accord. The Honda was traveling northbound on Millerton Road at the time of the collision.
Sadly, all four men in the Hyundai, Hernandez, Ramirez, Carlin, and Miguel Tijerina, 43 of Clovis, were pronounced dead at the scene. Sran, who was a passenger in the Honda, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the driver of the Honda and another passenger. They were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were suspected of having played a role in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
