The CHP said Canizales was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on SR 88 when he is believed to have drifted across the double yellow lines and collided head-on with an eastbound BMW motorcycle
South Lake Tahoe, CA – Marcus Canizales, 50, of Hayward, was killed in a motorcycle accident in South Lake Tahoe on Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at about 5 p.m. May 27, on State Route 88 near Red Lake.
The CHP said Canizales was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on SR 88 when he is believed to have drifted across the double yellow lines and collided head-on with an eastbound BMW motorcycle.
The impact ejected both riders from the motorcycles.
Canizales was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other rider, Christopher Jost, 52, of Gardnerville, Nevada, was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
