2 Injured, Maria Arcemiranda Arrested after San Jacinto Accident on N. State Street near W. Community College Way

San Jacinto, California (March 8, 2022) – A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a traffic crash that sent two people to hospital on Sunday night in San San Jacinto, according to authorities.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the collision on N. State Street, south of W. Community College Way just before midnight on Sunday, March 6.
Investigators said Maria Mercedes Arcemiranda, 38, was driving a dark gray Honda Civic coupe south on N. State Street when she lost control and drifted across the roadway. The Civic jumped the center median and collided head-on with an oncoming red Toyota Prius hatchback.

The driver of the Toyota was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by firefighters. He was transported to Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley with serious injuries.
Arcemiranda was arrested on suspicion of DUI and giving false information to the authorities. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and later booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
