Mary Centeno Killed in SR-1 Accident near Ventura
Ventura, California (August 13, 2022) – Mary Centeno, 68, of Ventura, was fatally hit by a vehicle north of Ventura on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Centeno was reportedly walking south on the right shoulder of SR-1 when a 2003 GMC 3500 dually pickup truck drifted onto the shoulder and rear-ended her.
The accident happened at around 9:23 a.m. on August 10.
Centeno was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
The involved driver, identified as Clifford Cornet, 61, of Oak View, remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the incident.
