1 Killed in Marysville Head-On Collision at Hammonton-Smartsville Rd and Doolittle Dr

Yuba County, California (October 12, 2021) – A 29-year-old Yuba City man was killed in a fiery Tuesday morning crash in Marysville, according to a news release from the CHP Yuba-Sutter Office.
The fatal crash was reported at about 7 a.m. in the area of Hammonton-Smartsville Road and Doolittle Drive, just outside Beale Air Force Base.
The CHP said the man the Yuba City man was driving a silver 2008 Infiniti M35 east on Hammonton-Smartville when he lost control, drifted into the northbound lanes and collided with a Clark Pest Control Ford F-150 that was traveling west.
The Infiniti caught fire after the crash. The driver was trapped inside the burning car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck, 53-year-old Darrell Drivon, of Grass Valley, complained of pain but declined to be transported to hospital.
All traffic lanes in the area of the collision remained closed for about three hours period following the wreck.
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
