, California (August 2, 2022) – Sgt. Matthew Lewis has been identified as the Riverside Police Department officer who was killed in a near on Monday evening.

The deadly collision happened at Pico Avenue and Road at around 7:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 45-year-old off-duty officer was riding a motorcycle when he crashed into a pickup .

Lewis, a resident of Nuevo, was killed in the crash.

He was a 25-year veteran of the department. He leaves behind his family, including four children and one grandchild.

Riverside, California (August 1, 2022) – One person died in a motorcycle accident that happened on Monday evening in Romoland, east of Perris.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Pico Avenue near Santa Rosa Avenue at around 7:15 p.m.

A motorcyclist reportedly crashed into another vehicle on the roadway for unknown reasons.
