2 Killed, Matthew Moen Arrested after Chico Crash near Neal Dow and E Fifth Avenues
Chico, California (February 1, 2022) – Matthew Moen, 31, was arrested after two people died in an alleged DUI collision near a Chico intersection Sunday afternoon, the Chico Police Department said.
Police said at least one of two vehicles involved in the incident slammed into a house near the intersection of Neal Dow and E Fifth avenues.
The fatal crash happened at around 5 p.m. January 30.
Chico said two people involved in the accident were killed while a third person was rushed to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Matthew Moen Arrested after Deadly DUI Crash in Chico
Moen, who was one of the drivers, was arrested on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He was booked into jail on a $300,000 bail.
Traffic was blocked in the area as investigators worked at the scene.
The Chico Police Department is investigating the collision.
