Max Hanner ID'd as Pilot Killed After Plane Crashes at North Driver Road and East Lerdo Highway near Minter Field Airport in Shafter

Shafter, California (November 3, 2021) – The pilot who was killed in a plane crash Wednesday morning near Shafter in Kern County has been identified as Max Allen Hanner, 62.
The Kern County Fire Department said the accident happened at about 11:56 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, in the area of Lerdo Highway and Driver Road.
The crop-dusting plane is reported to have crashed near Minter Field Airport and burst into flames.
Hanner, who was the sole occupant of the plane, was killed in the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause of the accident.
