Phoenix, AZ – The woman who died in a collision with a city bus Monday morning in north Phoenix has been identified as Melody Stewart, 31, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The wreck happened in the area of 19th Avenue and Larkspur Drive just after 9 a.m.
According to the Phoenix police, Stewart was driving a passenger car north on 19th Avenue when she moved into the opposite lanes, struck the west curb, and crashed head-on with a city bus traveling south.
Stewart was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
One passenger on the bus was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two other passengers declined medical transport.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
