County, California (October 24, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Friday morning traffic accident that left seven people injured in Merced County.

The accident occurred at about 9:20 a.m., on October 22, on near Plainsburg Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle lost control and crashed into another vehicle on southbound Highway 99. A third vehicle then crashed into the two vehicles.

The vehicles were described as a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, a Toyota Camry, and a Honda Accord.

7 Injured in Highway 99 Crash

Seven people were injured in the accident. They were hospitalized for treatment.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the mishap.

The crash remains under investigation.
