, California (September 22, 2021) – The Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau has identified the who died after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening at an intersection in Eastvale as Miguel Diaz Mendoza, 25, of Eastvale.

The deadly crash happened at around 6:31 p.m. Monday, September 20, in the area of Goodman Way and Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road.

Authorities said a vehicle was traveling through the parking lot when its driver developed a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle reportedly slammed into a metal gate and struck Mendoza who was walking through the parking lot.

Mendoza was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the vehicle and their passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Their names and condition were not immediately disclosed.

Authorities temporarily closed the Amazon parking lot for an unknown duration during the investigation. It is undetermined if intoxication was a factor in the collision.
