Mike Vargas Sr. Killed in DUI Farmington Crash on Escalon-Belota Road near Gown Road
Farmington, California (June 30, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a deadly collision that killed 58-year-old Mike Vargas Sr. on Sunday afternoon, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at about 3:00 p.m. on June 26, on Escalon-Belota Road near Gown Road.
As per the report, a motorcycle operated by Vargas Sr. was traveling south on the roadway when it headed near Gown road and crashed with a Telsa. The Telsa was reportedly driving on the opposite side when for unknown reasons, it swerved into the rider's side colliding head-on with the motorcycle.
The impact forced Vargas Sr. out of the motorcycle and onto the roadway.
Responding firefighters and medical personnel attempted to save the rider's life. Vargas Sr. was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities said that the Tesla driver appeared to be drunk. They treated the suspect for injuries before booking him into jail.
An investigation is underway.
