Mission Valley, California (December 14, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Monday evening fiery that left one person injured in Mission Valley.

The two-vehicle accident happened at about 10:42 p.m., on December 13, on the eastbound side of , near the transition to .

According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided on the roadway in unclear circumstances.

As a result of the crash impact, one vehicle reportedly went down an embankment and into a ditch before catching fire.

The driver of the burning vehicle was able to escape before the car was fully engulfed in flames. The driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The other driver was not injured.
