Mitchell Moreno Jr. ID'd as Motorcyclist Killed in San Jose Crash on Capitol Expressway near Highway 87
San Jose, California (December 18, 2021) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died Friday evening following a traffic collision in San Jose as Mitchell Moreno Jr., 28.
The deadly crash happened at around 6:16 p.m. Friday, December 17, on Capitol Expressway near Highway 87 on and off ramp.
San Jose police said Moreno Jr. was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Capitol Expressway at a high rate of speed when he tried to split the No. 1 and 2lanes. For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist collided with a 2007 Chevrolet pick-up truck traveling in the first lane.
Moreno Jr. was ejected from the bike and landed in the second lane, where a 2020 Tesla Model Y struck him.
Victim Of Fatal San Jose Motorcycle Collision Identified
Moreno Jr. died at the scene of the crash.
The two drivers stopped at the scene and were cooperative.
No other details were provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
