Modesto, CA: Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries in DUI Crash at Oakdale Road and Sylvan Avenue, Christopher Ramirez Arrested

, California (November 15, 2021) – A suffered serious injuries following an alleged DUI traffic collision outside a Modesto store Sunday morning, a local news source reported.

The major injury crash took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. at Road and Sylvan Avenue.

As per the dispatch, a male party standing outside the Stop n Save at the Modesto intersection was hit by a car before crashing into the gas station.

Due to the impact, the victim was trapped against the front wall when the car overturned into him. The vehicle also caught fire, and Christopher Ramirez was pinned inside. Firefighters used a hydraulic extrication tool to rescue him.

The pedestrian was also extricated from the wreckage and rushed to an area hospital for treatment of severe injuries following the collision injuries sustained.

The involved motorist, 33-year-old Christopher Ramirez, was determined to have been intoxicated at the crash time.

Ramirez, a Modesto resident, survived with minor wounds and was arrested by Police on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
