Montgomery Creek Woman Killed in Crash on Highway 299 in Redding

, California (August 13, 2022) – A 25-year-old woman from Montgomery Creek was killed in a Saturday morning traffic accident involving a -tractor in Redding, authorities said.

The deadly accident occurred at about 5:05 a.m. on Highway 299, just west of Pit No. 1 Powerhouse Road near Fall River Mills.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was headed westbound on the highway in a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt when she crossed over the double-yellow lines and crashed head-on into a 2014 Peterbilt truck-tractor.

The Peterbilt, driven by Jose Ramirez, 25, of , was reportedly towing an unloaded flat-bed trailer at the time of the collision.

Sadly, the Montgomery Creek woman sustained injuries in the accident.

Jose Ramirez and his passenger, Vincent Ramirez, 50, also of Corning, were not injured in the mishap.

Shasta County, California (August 13, 2022) – One person was killed in a collision involving two semi-trucks on Saturday morning in Redding.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 299 near Powerhouse Road at around 5:06 a.m.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision. The authorities were yet to establish the events leading up to the accident.

Officials say one person was killed in the crash.

The identity of the deceased person, however, was not immediately disclosed.

More details about the accident were not provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
